1st Lt William O. Dwyer Jr. graduated from Pittsfield High School and attended Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He was a welder for the Pittsfield Works.He enlisted in Springfield, Massachusetts on 14 March 1941.
Lt Dwyer was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Grand Failly, France.
