S/Sgt John B. Snowden Jr. attended Vanderbilt University for three years and was employed at the Patterson Transfer Company before he enlisted at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on 18 February 1941.He died from the effects of wounds to the head from a booby trap. The exact date he was reported wounded in action and the location where he died, is not known.
He is remembered at the Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee.
