Pfc Robert B. Riddle graduated from Berkeley High School in 1941 and attended the University of California. He was employed at the Richmond Shipbuilding Corporation.He was in the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.), undergoing air cadet training until March 1944, when the program was discontinued. He then was transferred to the infantry.
Pfc Riddle is remembered at the Riddle Cemetery in Riddle, Douglas County, Oregon with a memorial marker.
