Pvt Wendell L. Nelson attended high school for four years before he enlisted at Fort Hayes, Ohio on 24 March 1943.He was possibly killed during an artillery barrage.
He is remembered at the Nelson Cemetery in Salem Township, Meigs County, Ohio.
