Pvt George P. Lutz was employed at the Sixty Wall Tower, New York before he enlisted in New York City, New York on 2 April 1943.

He was reported seriously wounded in action on 25 December when D Company moved towards the village of Tintange, Belgium.

He was wounded and evacuated to the 16th Field Hospital in Boulaide, Luxembourg.
