Pfc Lester P. Lawrence attended high school for 1 year and worked for the Gano elevator company.He enlisted on 20 February 1943 and trained at Camp Roberts, California and Fort Benning, Georgia before going overseas in September 1943. He participated in the battle for Normandy and Operation Market Garden.
He was killed by enemy artillery fire.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Grand Failly, France.
