T/4 Kretschmer graduated from East high School and was a florist.He enlisted on 12 June 1941.
He was wounded in action by shrapnel when his tank was hit in the vicinity of Heitrak, the Netherlands on 28 October 1944. He died in a hospital in France
Last duty location: Area of Heitrak, Holland on October 28, 1944. He died from shrapnel wounds received when his tank was hit by enemy fire.
