More information

2nd Lt Floyd P. Heneghan was a clerk.

He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve at Scott Field, Illinois, on 11 May 1942.

The mission took place on 21 May 1944, but the official date of death of Lt Heneghan is registered on a day later.

On the return flight, other pilots in the group heard an unknown call, probably of Lt Heneghan, saying he was wounded and bailing out over the English Channel near the French-Belgian border. Nothing was heard from him again.
