S/Sgt Joseph G. Endress attended 2 years of high school and worked in a machine shop. He enlisted in Cincinnati County on 18 January 1943.He attended Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and worked for the Cincinnati Bickford Machine Tool Co. before entering the Army. He had been overseas since December 1943.
His brother Melvin Harvey Endress died on 19 March 1945, serving with the U.S. Navy and is buried at Honolulu.
