Capt Francis E. Maloney graduated from Gonzaga High School and Georgetown Foreign Service School. He also attended the University of Mexico City before he volunteered for the Army of the United States in Washington, District of Columbia on 12 February 1942.He was killed in an airplane accident, when he was on his way from Frankfurt, Germany to Belgrade, Yugoslavia to accept his new assignment as Assistant Military Attaché.
