More information

Pvt Grubb graduated from Chillicothe High School and attended Iowa State College and Northwest Missouri State Teachers College in Maryville before he enlisted in March 1943.

He was selected for the A.S.T.P. program and sent to Lehigh University in Bethlehem for six months. When the program was disbanded, he was tranferred to the infantry.

In April 1944 his engagement with Veronica Sobota was announced. Sadly the couple didn't have the opportunity to marry before Pvt Grubb was sent to Europe in October 1944.
