Pfc Francis Bloom attended college and was a stenographer and typist.He enlisted in Chicago, Illinois on 23 April 1941.
He was first buried in a temporary grave at Henri-Chapelle on 6 January 1945. His remains were disinterred on 23 October 1947 and prepared and placed in a casket on 24 October 1947. He was given his final resting place on 8 July 1948.
