Cpl Frank W. Hayes attended Painted Post High School.

He enlisted in Rochester, New York on 9 March 1943.

He was a veteran of the battle at the Anzio Beachhead in Italy.

Cpl Hayes was killed by a 'slow-flying projectile', probably a mortar shell.
