Pfc William A. Snider attended Tyrone High School and was a painter.He enlisted at Fort George G Meade, Maryland on 6 June 1941, being discharged on 28 November 1941. He again entered the service on 16 January 1942.
Assigned to special detail in charge of war prisoners, Snider made 21 trips across the Atlantic and saw service in England, France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
He was killed in a vehicle accident in France.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Champigneul, France.
