Maj William H. Tallant graduated from U.S. Military Academy at West Point with the Class of January 1943.Maj Windle D. Reel:
"Directly over target area the plane was directly hit either by a bomb from a plane flying above or by the flak, causing the plane to explode and blowing both plane and occupants to bits."
Maj Tallant is remembered at the Murrysville Cemetery in Murrysville, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
