Pvt Richard McConaughy was a laboratory technician and assistant before he enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 3 March 1943.He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his chest.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Saint-Juan, France.
