2nd Lt Henry J. Kelley Jr. enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 20 January 1943.Lt Kelley was shot by members of the FFL on the evening of 12 October 1944 in an altercation at a roadblock. He was unarmed. He died on 18 October.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Champigneul, France.
