1st Lt John D. Duffy enlisted in December 1942 and was overseas just five weeks before he was killed. He was killed around 11 am by small arms fire during the battle of Rothbach Creek while manning a machine gun. Also two other members of his platoon died during this incident.His brother, Pvt Edward F. Duffy is buried next to him.
