More information

2nd Lt Bradley B. Clark graduated from A.B. Davis High School in 1942.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps Reserve while attending New York University on 8 December 1942.

1st Lt W. A. Dunn:
"Lt Clark had been split up from his squadron during a dogfight over enemy territory and was returning to base alone without a homing from the control tower. His presence in the vicinity was first indicated by witnesses and reports of a crash in the Omelmont vicinity. One bullet hole was found in the empennage of his aircraft, but as far as could be determined, neither this hole nor possible battle damage affected the normal operation of the aircraft. The aircraft hit the ground going southwest approximately, into the sun, in less than a 30-degree dive. It is believed Lt Clark was attempting to drop below the overcast to land, and when he entered a layer of poor visibility he lost contact with the horizon and ground, and dove on into the ground."

His brother, Richard "Dick" Clark, was an American radio and television personality.

A plaque in memory of 2nd Lt Bradley B. Clark is in the French village of Omelmont, Meurthe-et-Moselle. It was inaugurated on 22 September 2012 as a gift of the municipality of Omelmont and the association Espace Mémoire Lorraine, Vézelise.
