Capt Harry Kravif enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 4 February 1942.
Aircraft was hit by flak behind #1 engine, just after bombs away. The left wing crumpled and put the ship in an intense spin. A few seconds later the ship blew up beyond recognition.
Seven crew members were killed in the crash, the remaining three ended up POW.
