More information

2nd Lt James H. Hopkins graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1938.

Statement from 1st Lt Louis W. Lee, who participated in the same mission: "I was flying Seldom White 3 with Lt Hopkins on my wing. At 1530 hours, the Squadron attacked a gaggle of enemy aircraft. I started after an FW 190 and heard Lt Hopkins say, 'I am with you Seldom 3.' I looked back, and he was flying in trail with me and appeared to be OK. I didn’t see Lt Hopkins after that nor hear him say anything on the R/T."

Lt Hopkins is remembered at the North Ridge Cemetery in Cambria, Niagara County, New York.
