Pvt Maurice P. Ploof was born in Canada and immigrated to the United States under the name Maurice Plouffe on 24 November 1925.He worked for the Central Vermont Pailway before he enlisted in Rutland, Vermont on 10 December 1942. He was sent overseas in April 1944.
