A/C 43-37606 was hit by flak; one burst reported under each wing near fuselage. A/C did a sharp bank to the right and left formation in a glide, just before bombs away. No smoke or fire was seen. The aircraft crash-landed near Monschau, Germany.

Three crew members were KIA, the remaining six were taken POW. Surviving crew member reports indicate that 2nd Lt Raymond K. Jr. Mills was killed instantly by flak.
