Pfc Robert O. Malone attended Lake View High School.He joined his unit from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on 11 July 1944. On 25 July he was severely wounded in action and transferred to the 100th Evacuation Hospital, for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time. After recovery, he rejoined his unit on 3 October 1944.
The picture was taken in high school in 1937.
