1Lt Edwin M. Helton enlisted in Tulsa, Oklahoma on 19 August 1942. According german records 1Lt Helton was captured and killed on the run."statement from 2Lt S.D. Martin"
Lt. Helton was flying # 5 position and about the time we came to the target I heard on VHF radio, a report which I believe came from Lt. Helton, that his controls had been knocked out. When we re-assembled, after leaving the target area, Lt. Helton was missing.
The Plane crashed in Klink Neustralitz, Germany, all 9 were KIA.
