More information
T/Sgt Worth B. White Jr. enlisted in Dallas, Texas on 8 December 1942.He served overseas since March, 1944.
Statement from 1st Lt. Japes P. Harper:
"I was flying on the right wing of Captain David G. Morton’s airplane. Just before coming to the LZ I noticed Captain Morton’s airplane was hit by flak and started to climb. The last I saw of the airplane was when it was going over my airplane with glider still in tow. Coming through the flak area after making a right turn, I noticed an airplane on my right going down in a shallow right turn. I also noticed two chutes come out of this latter plane and am quite sure they landed safely. I do not know whether the airplane crashed or not. I am not sure if this latter ship was that of Captain Morton."
A crewmember believed that T/Sgt White suffered wounds while in the plane and that he went down with the ship.
