Pfc Floyd R. Rasmussen enlisted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 5 June 1942.He worked in production of ferrous and nonferrous metals before he enlisted.
Rasmussen transferred from an anti-aircraft unit to the infantry so he could get into action quicker. He went overseas in July 1944, and his last letter, dated 17 November, was written in Germany. Four days later he was killed.
He was married 27 August 1942, at Patterson, New Jersey, to Jane D. Frederickson.
