S/Sgt Loron R. Hinkle enlisted in Binghamton, New York on 25 November 1942. He was a chauffeur before he enlisted.
On 1 January 1945, his company was attacking Remagne, Belgium. According to a grave report of the German Medical Company 1/66 was brought to their aid post in Erneuville, suffering from a shell splinter in the lung. He died the same day and was initially buried at a provisionally cemetery in that village, some 100 meters eastward of a forest in the direction of Cens.
