Mr. Grube graduated from Rapid City High School in 1942 and attended the School of Mines for about nine months before entering the war. He enlisted in the infantry as a rifleman and went into active service on March 18, 1943 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Pfc Grube was then stationed with the 406th Infantry Regiment at Camp Swift, Texas. He was with the Ozark division.
