Pvt John Sweeney was employed by the Zenite Metal Corporation.He enlisted on 3 March 1944 at Fort Benjamin, Indiana. He arrived overseas in August 1944.
He joined his unit from a replacement depot on 16 September 1944 and was seriously wounded in action in Schierwaldenrath in Germany on 8 October 1944.
