CWO Stanley W. Maligian enlisted on 13 January 1941 in Jamaica, New York.

Together with four of his comrades, he was buried in a field near a road, approximately 1.3 miles southeast from the center of the town of Oosterzele.

They were killed when their glider crashed in a field and were buried by the surviving crew members.
