Sgt Jackson T. Ramsey graduated from Greenville High School in 1936 and was employed by the Southern Worsted Corp.He volunteered for the Army of the United States at Fort Jackson, South Carolina on 2 December 1942.
Sgt Ramsey was killed in action soon after returning to duty after recovering from a serious wound suffered in Normandy.
He was initially buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Molenhoek, The Netherlands
