Sgt James O'Laughlin joiined the Regular Army on 18 June 1940 and volunteered for the paratroopers on 28 September 1942. He was sent overseas on 1 September 1943 and later took part in the invasion of Normandy, France.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Son, the Netherlands.
