S/Sgt Michael Kozar enlisted on 17 June 1942 in Hartford, Connecticut.He joined his unit from a replacement depot on 21 July 1944 and was lightly wounded in action on 18 August 1944.
His brother, 1st Engineer John Kozar, served on the merchant ship Friar Rock and was killed on 13 January 1942 when his ship torpedoed in the Atlantic Ocean.
