Pvt Joseph A. Glassen worked for the New York Daily News and was an avid athlete.He enlisted in New York City, New York on 30 November 1942.
His brother-in-law, Patrick J. Mazzie, was killed on 1 June 1944. At the request of the family both men are buried side by side.
