Pvt James M. Derflinger graduated from Warren County High School and was employed at Fort Belvoir.He enlisted in Richmond, Virginia on 27 December 1943. He was sent overseas in June 1944.
He was officially declared dead one day and one year after he was reported missing in action.
There are records that state that his remains were found in Hürtgen and had been evacuated to Ardennes Cemetery. From then there is no further information.
