At some point , after bombs away, FW-190's attacked the formation and the crew lost power on three of their four engines.
Mrs. Roy Cassel, Harrisbur, R.D.3, has been informed by the War Department of the death of her son, Staff Sgt. Glen Reily, 21, who was killed in a plane crash in Holland on March 6.
Sergeant Reily, a top turret gunner and engineer with the Eight Air Force Liberator bomber, had been overseas less than a month when he was listed as missing. It was only recently that the German government announced he had been killed. He attended Susquehanna High School and was employed by the Harrisburg Steel company before entering the service January 16, 1941. He won his gunner“s wings at Wendover Field, Utah.
