More information

1st Lt Robert J Brine graduated from Cranston High School in 1940. He was employed at General Electric as a draftsman.

Statement of Captain Thomas F. Ranlinson:
"I was pilot of A/C #8264 flying loan of .. squadron. A/C #6268 was flying 32 position in the squadron. At approximately 1125, we were west of the Udine area, just starting across the Alps. A/C #6268 called me and said his #2 engine was throwing a lot of oil, and he was going to feather the prop and turn back. I called and asked if he wanted fighter escort, and he said no, he was going to fly in the clouds on the way back and would not need escort. I watched A/C #6268 peel out of formation and noticed that he had not feathered any prop. That is the last I saw or heard of A/C #6268. "

His brother, William C. Brine, is also buried at Ardennes Cemetery.
