T/Sgt Harry L. Spriggs joined the Regular Army at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri on 10 October 1940. He was sent overseas in early 1944.He was wounded in action in France in December 1944 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time.
T/Sgt Spriggs was named after his uncle, E. Leslie Spriggs, who was killed during World War I.
