More information

Cpl Walter J. Radel enlisted at Fort Thomas Newport, Kentucky on 8 December 1942 and overseas since February. Before entering the service he was a carrier for the Cincinnati Post.
Together with Pvt William J. Dellapenta, he was standing before a window of an school building when it was shelled by German artillery fire. Both were killed. Sgt. Chester Wetsig, who was sitting in the window survived.
