T/5 Joseph Leonardo Jr. graduated from Madison High School in Rochester, New York and was employed by Harold H. Clapp Inc.

He enlisted in Rochester, New York in April 1943 and was sent overseas in August. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge in January 1945.

His daughter was born five days after he died.
