More information

Cpt Herman L. Jacobius enlisted in New York.
Filed U.S. patent US2206282 for the "method and means for testing sugar" on May 24, 1938 at the U.S. Patent Office.
The Herman L. Jacobius Prize in Pathology at the Weill Cornell Medical College was established in 1945 by a gift from Dr. Lawrence Jacobius in memory of his son, Dr. Herman Jacobius of the class of 1939, who gave his life in the Netherlands in World War II. The prize is awarded to the student in the third or fourth year class, who, in the opinion of the Department of Pathology, merits recognition for the highest scholastic attainment and outstanding performance in pathology.

Captain Jacobius served for a battalion aidstation and was killed during a German Air attack.
He was first buried at Temporary American Military Cemetery Molenhoek, Netherlands Block B, Row 2, Grave 23.
