Pfc Clyde M. Hunter graduated from Peace Valley School.

He enlisted in 1943 trained at Camp Mackall, North Carolina and Camp Forest, Tennessee. He was overseas for eight months.

He was wounded in action four days before his death.

A brother of his wife, Albert B. Thompson, was killed in action in France on 30 August 1944, serving with the 12th Engineer Combat Battalion of the 8th Infantry Division.
