1st Lt John W. Ell graduated from Dickinson College with the class of 1940 and was employed in the Library of Congress, Washington.He enlisted at Camp Lee, Virginia on 27 August 1941.
In England he volunteered for the Pathfinders.
He was killed by a German artillery shell.
