Pvt William F. Davis employed as a shipfitter in the local shipyard.

He enlisted at Camp Patrick Henry, Virginia on 3 February 1941. In 1943, he volunteered for the paratroopers and finished his training in November 1943 at Camp Mackall, North Carolina. He was sent overseas in January 1944.

He was reported wounded in action on 14 June 1944. After recovering, he rejoined his unit

Pvt William F. Davis first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemeteryof Molenhoek, The Netherlands.
