2nd Lt Charles K. Davidson attended Wabash College at Crawfordsville, Indiana. He volunteered for the Army of the United States at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana on 5 March 1942.Lt Davidson had fought in Normandy with the Service Company of the 501st and was transfered to H Company as an assistant platoon leader just before Operation Market-Garden.
While moving up to take over a part of the line between I Company and the rest of 2nd Battalion, H Company ran into an element of German paratroops. Lt. Davidson and two others were out abreast of their platoon when he was hit by a light machine gun in the chest.
He was initially buried at the temporary Americtan Military Cemetery of Zon, the Netherlands.
