Pvt Frank Boersema graduated Holland High School in Holland, Michigan in 1936. He worked at General Motors before he enlisted.

He joined his unit from a replacement depot on 7 October 1944.

He was last seen during a raid on a wooded area near Hatterath on 29 October 1944. It was reported that several booby traps were heard to explode in the vicinity in which he was known to be.

He was officially declared dead one day and one year after he was reported missing in action.

He is memorialized at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
