T/4 Olan D. Ranck attended high school for 2 years and was a mechanic. He enlisted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 28 May 1942.He was killed by shell fragmentation wounds to the chest and arms.
He is remembered at the Highland Cemetery in New Columbia, Union County, Pennsylvania.
