Cpl Charles E. Marcelle enlisted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 5 June 1942. He was sent overseas in September 1943. He took part in the invasion of France on D-day on 6 June 1944.

He is remembered at the Saint Mary's Cemetery in Luxemburg, Kewaunee County, Wisconsin.
