T/5 Steve J. Stytzer worked in a garage before he enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 13 April 1942.He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal awarded posthumously. The citation cited: For meritorious service in connection with military operations against the enemy from 16 December 1944 to 25th December 1944. T/5 Grade Stytzer, at great personal risk performed his duties as a light truck driver in an outstanding manner. He was constantly required to drive over a road that was under enemy artillery fire. With no consideration for his own health and safety, he cheerfully continued to drive over the road. He was instrumental in keeping close liaison with adjacent units, thereby alding in repelling enemy attacks. T/5 Stytzer's courage, loyalty and devotion to duty until his death reflects great credit upon himself and the armed forces of the United States.
